What is Tech Trance?
Tech trance can be thought of as a mix of trance and techno. Much tech trance will have some more atonal or mechanical
sounds. Much tech trance can be less progressive than other trance genres, or less arpeggiation.
But as the word is used nowadays, tech trance can mean one of two very different styles. I'll call one the DJ Eco style
and the other the Sean Tyas style.
The left & below links show 4 trance genres:
- Uplifting/Anthem Tr.
- Progressive Trance - Vocal Trance - Balearic Trance
(Within these, trance producers
often merge trance with house,
jazz, ambient, classical, indie,
electro, psy-trance, pop, hip-
hop, techno, alt., Euro/HiNRG,
Latin, chill-out, or downtempo.)
